Data Supplies & Accessories Ltd was incorporated in the UK in 1982. Back then we saw a need for a reliable supplier of computer consumables. This included printer ribbons, reel to reel tape and continuous listing paper. Our original office was at St. Georges Buildings, 5 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. We then moved within the same building to 153 Queen Street, Glasgow G1 3BJ.
As time went on these consumables changed into small ink cartridges and toner supplies, cut sheet paper products as well as high capacity media. Most orders were despatched the very same day they were received, and we were able to offer exceptional prices on these products.
In the early 1990s our clients were asking if we could supply other products to them, including dictation equipment and other office machines. Today this accounts for a large part of our business, especially since the introduction of digital products.
We started to take a great interest in the internet, and in 1996 had our first website built and started trading online. It was a huge leap of faith at the time, but one that has helped us move into areas we had never previously thought of.
Taking on digital dictation products meant a lot of training, testing and keeping up with all the latest developments. We do this on a regular basis and are now recognised as experts in the field of digital dictation and transcription equipment.
Due to the volume of telephone calls we were receiving we looked at outsourcing our incoming calls, and used many different companies. In 2009 we decided to setup our own in-house team of virtual PAs in order to give our own customers the service they deserve and offer telephone answering services to other small businesses.
Our main office is in Cumbernauld, about 15 minutes from Glasgow City Centre, with various satellite addresses to service our customers who are spread throughout Europe.
